Welcome to the Burghley Branch of the Pony Club.
The Burghley Branch was established in 1958 and is part of Pony Club Area 6.
We are very fortunate to be based in the beautiful surroundings of Burghley
Park, by kind permission of the Burghley Estate. Many of our events are held in
fields within the park and we use other venues in the area to provide a wide
range of activities and training throughout the year. We try to offer something
for everyone, from the youngest mini on lead rein to the oldest, most
experienced rider. Our aims are to make Pony Club fun, to encourage and develop
good horsemanship and good sportsmanship, and to provide every member with the
opportunity to progress and succeed at whatever level suits them.
Our branch is run by a committee of enthusiastic volunteers who work tirelessly
to provide activities for our members. 2007 has welcomed a new President
to the Burghley branch of the Pony Club, Mrs Miranda Rock with Miss R. David, Mrs C Ling, Mrs E Thompson
and Mrs M Smith continuing as our vice presidents. Parents are encouraged to participate in
whatever capacity they can and we pride ourselves on being a friendly and
approachable branch. Each year we hold events to raise funds. The money earned
helps to pay for instructors at rallies and to buy and maintain equipment.
Our members receive the highest level of instruction, and have the chance (should they desire) to be selected to represent Burghley Pony Club at competitions.
Come along to one of our rallies, training sessions, call or email us to find out more about our pony club.
We now have over 120 active members, and welcome newcomers.
