Hi -- I'm Beth Vale, and i've recently acquired Lenny,
my 16.2hh 7yo ISH x Zweibrucker Dark Grey Roan gelding, and I just had to show him off and tell you all how we've been getting on! I also felt like the blog part of this page has been left a little abandoned, so here it is!

Lenny is quite a character so I thought i'd put down all the little things he's done over the last four months and then other people can add what their horses do. Lenny likes to go to parties (shows) but it's been really cold recently, so I left Dad in charge while I went to get some chips and warm up while at our first show together. Dad had a cup of tea in one hand and was holding Lenny in the other, while talking to Mick Papworth. Lenny looked around to check no one was looking, and this long pink tongue appeared over Dad's shoulder as he stole half of Dad's tea! He also spent the rest of the show untying my number and chewing the string... when I went back to the secretary for the third time to get some more, she actually asked me what I was doing with it!

The people who turn Lenny out for me can no longer leave other horses' rugs over the stable walls because he pulls them down, drags them all to the middle of his stable and then curls up in his "rug nest."

Probably the most annoying thing he's done, however, is when I was trying to worm him. He wouldn't swallow so I grabbed his nose to try and force him to. He made noises like he was dying and looked so sorry for himself that I thought I better let go, only when I did, he spat wormer all over my brand new Jack Wills hoody! He snorted as if to say, "That'll teach her!" I was not impressed! He has, however, been very good. I'm really getting to know him now and starting to trust him, which will definitely take time. I've had some really good results from the four shows we've been to; 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th dressage placings, qualifying for the trailblazers dressage second rounds at our first ever show together, and qualifying for the ponies uk winter dressage final at our first attempt. We've also had 3rd and 4th showjumping placings at local shows. I'm really looking forward to the forthcoming eventing season and hope to see you all out and about this summer!
