It is great to see so many of you at our Novice Show held in the park a couple of weekends ago. You all looked as though you were having a great deal of fun and seemed to go home with lots of medals and rosettes.

A big thank you to all of you, and your parents, who helped in putting away equipment at the end of a long day.

MINI CAMP 2010

 Hi everyone,

The year rolls on and thoughts are turning to Mini Camp which will be held in Burghley Park on the 11/12/13/14 th August 2010 in the pony club fields. For those of you new to mini camp I will inform you a little more about it now but more detailed instructions regarding equipment, what the members are expected to wear etc will be given nearer the time.

The camp runs from 2.00pm to 4.00pm on the Wednesday and then 10.00am to 4.00pm approx on the Thursday and Friday when the members will be put into rides of their ability which will be under the leadership of an instructor. They will have mounted instruction in the morning and the afternoon and some stable management lessons and other activities. On the Saturday the day starts at 10.00am and ends at around 4.00pm but this will depend on the numbers attending camp so it would be wise to keep the whole afternoon free in case we finish later. They will have a little fun competition, a parade and the presentations.

The children will need to bring a picnic lunch each day. After lunch there will be a tuck shop open for them. Regarding help, each member attending camp will be assigned a helper for the duration of his/her time at camp. I should point out that some of the older more able members may have to share a helper with another member of their ride. Parents are not expected to stay during the day but there will be some help required from parents of all members attending at some time during camp eg: help with equipment or providing cakes/ food for the instructors’ lunch etc!

The cost for attending camp will depend on the number of members attending. Last year the cost was £70.00. This year we are repeating the format of camp lasting for the period of three and a half days as it seemed to be successful.  Please would parents of all members hoping to attend please fill in the booking form and send a deposit of £30.00 so that I get a good idea of numbers hoping to attend and can make an informed decision on the  final cost of camp as soon as possible. It would be appreciated if the forms were sent to me by Wednesday 5th May 2010.

Remember only receipt of the completed form and deposit cheque will guarantee the member a place at camp. The applications will be placed on a first come first served basis.

I hope that you find the above informative but should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me at home on 01780 765030, mob 07944134283 or e-mail me on categoodwin@btinternet.com
