Burghley Pony Club member, Bethany Vale, recorded the second best individual score at the finals of the National Schools Equestrian Association Jumping and Style competition at Keysoe.

Riding in the intermediate for Spalding High School, Beth and Lenny were up against 120 riders from schools across the UK. Although the team wasn't placed in that class, Beth's score was topped by only one other rider.   In the Open class Beth and the rest of the Spalding team came fourth.
The class was judged on rider's performance, harmony with the horse, show jumping and x-country faults and time penalties.  The Spalding team was trained by Jane Carter.

Well Done to Rachel Spain who's passed her B TEST. Also a big thank you to the Copestakes, who lent Rachel a pony, when her horse went lame just before the test.

Very well done to Silas Mason, George Andrew and Greta Mason (on Peggy) for a splendid win at the 13.2hh Fitzwilliam team show jumping at East of England Show ground last Sunday. We also ended up with a very good third for our other 13.2hh team, Bethany Fitt (on Murphy), Greta Mason (on Breeze), Diana Bevan and Bethany Fitt (riding Lucy Daly’s new pony Mickey). Bethany ended up with an individual 5th place on her new pony Murphy.

Well done to our two 10 and under teams who although not placed had very good rounds and should be very proud of themselves. The teams were:- Lucy Daly, Saoirse Mason, Claudia Campbell and Alice Edwards. Ross Hemmings, India Ward and Maddie Price.

Thank you very much to Tory Bignell who helped warm up our teams, and congratulations as Tory is due to have her first baby in January.

 being placed 3rd overall.

Good luck to Bethany and Silas for
the Championships on Saturday.

Many congratulations to Jessica Varley and Cleo who won the area 6 intermediate individual show jumping at Flitteris Park on Saturday 8th August. The competition was stiff and there were 92 competitors in this class making this achievement all the more impressive. Jessica and Cleo have consequently qualified for the Pony Club Show jumping  championships at Draycott.

This is the second  consecutive year that Jessica and Cleo  have qualified in three disciplines  (eventing ,show jumping and tetrathlon) at the Pony Club championships and as Christina Thompson pointed out at the presentation on Saturday  it is encouraging to see a tetrathlete being  so successful in other disciplines!

Congratulations to Jessica Varley who has qualified for the intermediate Pony Club Tetrathlon champs at Hartpury in 3 weeks time.

Congratulations to Claudia Kendall, Jessica Varley and Catherine Davies for great performances at the ODE and for qualifing for the Championships
