Last Sunday we hosted a friendly games competition against Cottesmore Pony
Club. What looked like it was going to be a rainy washout of a day turned
into glorious sunshine and lots of fun was had by all. Cottesmore bought
along a senior and junior team and we had our own junior team competing
together for the first time and two senior teams - girls v boys - both
competing against a mixed Cottesmore team. Cottesmore seniors managed to
beat us over all followed closely by our Burghley girls and by one point
only our Burghley boys! Great fun was had by all involved with much team
spirit and encouragement on the sidelines from mums and dads. All the
ponies behaved really well with the Burghley ponies and riders being
exceptionally well turned out too which was a great credit to us! Friendly
competitions are good fun and get all the ponies and riders used to
competition conditions without the pressure so it was a great fun start to
the season and we are now looking forward to challenging Cottesmore on their
home ground in May. So if any more of you fancy having a go at team games
why not come along to our training sessions and joining us in challenging
The Cotts - details of all the training sessions appear on the website.
