Hi everyone,
My name is Anna Haefeli and Im writing from the U.S.A. Some of you
know that I was in the pony club to my Dads work.
Any way, I promised Robbie that I would start writing to you guys
and sorry I haven't got round to it yet but I'm doing it now. So, here
in the U.S.A, pony club is a lot different in ways that they are quite
disorganized and don't have quite so many activities and shows, but
when they do have them, they are often quite far away. It's common to
drive 3 hours to get to a show but then after paying to be in the show
you need to spend even more money on a stable and a hotel because you
won't want to travel home so late.
I now have a 5 year old, chestnut gelding who is absolutely
lovely. He was bottle-fed when he was tiny because his mother died from
a brain tumor when he was five days old. so now he's like a pet dog!
(a nice, friendly one!) His name is Wally and he is a paint x draft
which may sound a bit strange but they are very common here.
I went, with my Mum and Dad, to Montana for a week and
whilst we were there we were lucky enough to see our first rodeo! It
was AWESOME!!!(in the words of an american!) We had great fun watching
bucking broncos, bull riding, bull wrestling and eating our first
funnel cake! We also went western riding on trails through the
mountains of Misoula in big beautiful saddles that are really big and
very comfortable.
We have also been to Kentucky for Rolex. This is one of the major
horse events in the world and this year an Australian girl won called
Lucinda Fredericks she was very good.
This is all of my information for the moment but I will write to
you all soon with more news.
Bye for now Love to you all Anna. xxx
ps still missing all of you! :)
