I have the following information for children wishing to take their hunting tests with the Cottesmore Hunt Pony Club.  This is to enable them to hunt unaccompanied - not for them to be allowed to go hunting.  They can attend a Pony Club meet in the holidays and of course can go hunting accompanied by an adult with the permission of the Hunt Secretary - Clare Bell.
 
HUNTING TEST.
 
Requirements:  Age 12 years +
                     Test passed : C
                     Must have some experience of Hunting.
 
One Rally will take place at the Cottesmore Hunt Kennels at the beginning of the Christmas Holidays.
Test will be taken late Christmas Holidays.
 
                      Test to consist of 1/3 written paper
                                               1/3 verbal test
                                         1/3 ridden

- use of Hunting Whip, opening and shutting a gate plus one day accompanied hunting. 
                                                                 (This can take place pre or post test)
 
Please contact me with plenty of notice ( as I have to let Bell Bell know well in advance)  Test sheets can be bought off the PC Website, I have a few at home.
 

Any children under 12 that are interested in Hunting please can you let me know who they are and their ability (i.e. can they safely gallop across a field with several others under control etc!?!) and I will contact Clare Bell and see if she can organise anything.

 Anyone can go to the Pony Club meets in the hols, where they will be made welcome and usually somebody has them under their wing (as long as they have contacted the hunt sec. so she knows they are coming!)
