Pony Club JumpCross Team

Competition Report

23rd February 2008.

Congratulations to Pam Cranfield, who started her reign as JumpCross Intro Team Manager with a win – her team beating the 2 Fitzwilliam teams entered by a margin of 40 points.

Our winning team at Intro level were –

*   Harry Ladds riding Joseph

*   Bethany Fitt riding Monty Python

*   Jake Webb riding Branston

*   Alex Elliott riding Onyx

Bethany Fitt top-scored, narrowly beating Harry Ladds – with both putting in performances likely to win further competitions in the future. Bethany in particular improving vastly on her October 2007 score – when she also won !!

These two were supported by Jake and Alex – with Alex forsaking an individual role in favour of contributing to the team effort.

Many Thanks to all involved.

At Group Three level, the Burghley also won – AGAIN (this was the Eighth consecutive win at this level, the winning run starting in October 2006).

The winning Burghley Hurricanes Team was –

*   Lauren Dolby riding Careby Jubilee

*   Oliver Meikle riding Foxy

*   Danielle Jackson riding Early

*   Emily Lumb riding Rory

Danielle top-scored for the Hurricanes, with Emily close behind

The Fitzwilliam were second, with our Burghley Spitfires third -  Burghley Spitfires Team was –

*   Lisa Reid riding Star

*   Brogan Cranfield riding Roxy

*   Oliver Meikle riding Pascha

*   Lauren Dolby riding Red

Ollie top-scored for the Spitfires – but only by .04 of a point from Brogan – showing that competition within the teams is fierce !

JumpCross Competition Report

15th September 2007.

Burghley Members celebrate their success in finishing

1st, 2nd & 3rd at the penultimate JumpCross competition of 2007

On Saturday, 15th September Four Burghley teams competed in the Pony Club Teams JumpCross competition held at Grange Farm, along with several members competing as Individuals.

And after the usual highly competitive event, Burghley teams emerged in First, Second & Third places. Fourth place went to the Fitzwilliam team with a further Burghley team in Fifth place (reduced to three team members following a withdrawal).

The winning team was once again the Burghley Hurricanes, described by the commentator as “the heavyweights”, due to their wealth of experience – the team this time was Danielle Jackson, Emily Lumb, Oliver Meikle & Lauren Dolby. Several other members recorded scores which will make Team selection interesting for the final competition of the year on 20th October

For Burghley Teams, this will be the most important competition of the year.

Why? - because the Burghley are unbeaten in JumpCross Team competitions during 2007 so far – and to win the final competition of the year would mean a clean sweep, unbeaten for the whole of 2007.
