Senior ODE and Area Novice
Horse Trials.
On the 22nd July 2007, the Burghley ran their
senior ODE together with the Area Novice Horse Trials. Despite the awful
weather in the weeks leading up to this event, and the caution we were asked
to adopt by Burghley, the competition took place, and a wonderful day was
had by all.
Congratulations to our area team who came 4th.
They consisted of Jessica Varley (placed 2nd in her arena and best Burghley
receiving the Wedderburn Trophy ) Suzie Bliss, Lauren Dolby (best Burghley
in her arena receiving the Fryer Trophy) and Alice Turner. Very well done to
all of them. Thanks to the team manager, Sue Reynolds, the instructor, Milla
Healey, the parents, and of course the girls and their mounts, for making it
possible for the Burghley to field a team.
Our individual riders in the Novice were Lydia
Chalmers, Danielle Jackson (who had two horses, placed 6th with Swift
Spirit), Steffie Reynolds, Tamsyn Iveson, Charlotte Adams, Emily Lumb (5th),
and in the Open were Rachel Spain (1st receiving the Hoy Trophy) Ben Scott
and India Thompson. Well done to all of you.
Finally a special mention to all of you involved
with the preparation, the organisation, the setting up and clearing away,
and the truly smooth running of the day, thank you. These events could not
happen without your help.
Yvette.
